Kari Herbert

Public Speaking & Voice-over

I like to take my audiences on highly-visual, thrilling journeys from the Arctic to the deserts of Oman. Audience members have described my presentations as engaging, energetic, deeply personal, frank and inspiring.

I frequently lecture at literary festivals and events and have spoken at venues such as the Royal Geographical Society, the British Library and the Explorers Club in New York, as well as at schools and universities. My most challenging talk, however, was given on board an expedition ship crossing the thirty-foot waves of the Drake Passage en route to the Antarctic, with tables, chairs (and my audience) sliding back and forth across the room!

I have appeared on various TV and radio programmes. Click the video below to watch a short film on climate change for the BBC...

As a voice-over artist, I have narrated TV documentaries, and voiced radio adverts, multi-media presentations, and even in-car navigation systems. Clients include the BBC, Prada, Audi, and BMW. To hear a demo find me at www.voice123.com/kariherbert or I can be found at IntervoiceOver.

Kari Herbert

"Thank you for the superb lecture you gave us yesterday. You held the audience spell-bound with your beautiful images and your knowledge and insight."

Dr Rita Gardner, Director, Royal Geographical Society

"On Thursday our pupils were treated to an exceptional lecture given by the charismatic travel writer, Kari Herbert. From her remarkable upbringing immersed in Inuit culture as a toddler through to her treks through deserts of all descriptions, Kari has led a thrilling and wonderful life and is an inspiration to many about what it is possible to endure, love and write about. Of particular interest were her thoughts on the relationship between mankind and nature, clearly influenced by her early life."

Simon White, Cokethorpe School, Witney

"Thank you, Kari, for making the opening of the Lines in the Ice exhibition such an enjoyable evening. Your speech was most inspiring and will stay with me. I have even more of an itch to travel to the Arctic now!"

Philip Hatfield, Curator, British Library
